Or Marie's 'Izuna' form.
Made from a 1 and 1/4 inch piece of wood doweling. The handle is cut from the same piece, and was sanded into a curve and glued. I cut the dowel using a hand saw and a miter box. No nails or screws were used, but it's still bloody sturdy. The top piece of the hand guard is just a plastic pole I cut, bent, and painted. The whole thing was painted with enamel paints, and finished with a matte varnish. The handle is wrapped with white ribbon. It took me a while, but I love it! |
